Companies currently producing 5.1 synthesizers add a synthesized effect to stereo using artificial "steering", including delays, echo and phase shifting which are not related to the original mixer's intent. Penteo is measurably superior, and simply parses a stereo mix into its original components. The product is then down-mixable to the original stereo -- with absolutely no audio artifacts.

Product/Services:

Penteo offers a premium up-mastering service for film studios, production companies, and record labels. Our service takes existing stereo mixes and up-converts them to 5.1 surround at a fraction of the cost of re-mastering from the original tracks. We recently launched our premium up-mastering service by processing six 1970's music pieces for the $120M blockbuster Watchmen.

We have also incorporated the Penteo algorithm into a real-time, turn-key appliance for the live-television broadcast industry, focusing on advertising, entertainment and sports programming. The Penteo/RT box automates the process to allow ALL stereo TV broadcasts to be available in high-quality surround sound. Our PenteoRT (real-time) product converts all stereo broadcasts into 5.1 surround sound "on the fly," allowing broadcasters the ability to send out all their programming as a 5.1 mix simultaneously with their stereo transmission.

Penteo can also be incorporated into consumer electronics (e.g. an Apple TV Dock) to convert streaming stereo content into 5.1 surround in real time.
